Sounds similar to my earliest short story "The Year Without Christmas." I wrote it at about the age of 8 years old for the grade school newspaper. The teachers loved it but the principal nixed it because of the violence. It's about a CEO who loses money on his Toy corporation every year because Santa is delivering all the presents for free. So he hires a hit man to take him out. I still have it somewhere.

My first story was Nightmare on Sesame street. With Ernie Kruger killing the rest of the street puppets. The teacher gave me a 'well done' sticker then told her next class of the title,
And like a meme everyone wrote Night mare on sesame street...
Zero royalties or acknowledgement... so life was preparing me early on for a life in the arts
